Ajay Devgan impresses with U ME AUR HUM

If rushes of U ME AUR HUM are any indication, Ajay Devgan is all set to be yet another actor turned director to make a big impression in Bollywood.
While the classy looking promos made heads turn in a big way ever since they were unveiled close to two months back, the songs which followed too made one look in awe and nod in agreement that U ME AUR HUM indeed looked different.
However, it is the extensive dialogue promo which has been released just recently which has made one start looking serious at Devgan's direction capabilities.
In this close to two minute promo, one realizes that U ME AUR HUM is not just a mushy romantic tale in the offering but has dollops of drama and emotional value attached. The frames seem to have been designed to get a unique flavor to them while the setting too has a new dimension to it.
One gets intrigued with what U ME AUR HUM has to offer because though there is a slight hint around what exactly is in store, Devgan has smartly kept the basic plot of the film hidden and is teasing his audience to check it out in theaters to know more.
In addition, he doesn't keep the limelight on himself and explains that U ME AUR HUM belongs not just to the pairing of him and Kajol but also the other two couples played by Sumeet Raghavan - Divya Dutta and Karan Khanna - Isha Sharwani.
With music by Vishal Bharadwaj and background score by Monty Sharma, the film has an excellent crew in place as Aseem Bajaj handles cinematography; Ashley Lobo and Ganesh Acharya are in charge of choreography while Ashwani Dheer writes the dialogues of the film.
Now if Devgan truly comes up with a worthy effort in U ME AUR HUM, it would indeed be quite good for the industry. Reason? Bollywood would get a new director in less than six months since Aamir Khan came with a standing ovation worthy film TAARE ZAMEEN PAR.
