SRK says 'thank you' to Aamir's No. 2 remark

Mumbai: After Aamir Khan's tongue-in-cheek dig at fellow actor Shah Rukh Khan on Wednesday, labelling him number two, King Khan reacted with witticisms on Thursday, saying it was a great compliment to him.


Ob being asked to react to Aamir Khan's widely-reported remark when he asked SRK how it feels to be No. 2, Shah Rukh said: "I just want to tell you, Aamir is a dear friend of mine and if he has thought that I am second to him, it's a great compliment to me."


Claiming that his wife has warned him against saying anything funny about Aamir as she is a great Aamir Khan fan, SRK said: "I and Aamir are completely opposite persons. He is an intelligent, intellectual person whereas I am more of an instinctive man. I am more physical when I do things, whereas Aamir thinks it out."


King Khan said "as Khans" Aamir and he had great regard for each other and "I know his jokes and he knows mine. And, he is hundred per cent No. 1."


On a lighter note, SRK then said: "I said I love K-K-K-K-K-Kiran and he really loves K-K-K-K-K-Kiran."

The Bollywood actor was speaking at a press meet in connection with his Indian Premier League team - Kolkata Knight Riders - which was held in Mumbai. Akash Chopra, Ishant Sharma, Murali Karthik and Cheteshwar Pujara were among the Indian players who were present at the event.


SRK and his wife Gauri gifted each member of the side with a golden helmet. Shah Rukh had earlier released the official song, the official mascot and playing shirts of Kolkata Knight Riders at an event in Kolkata on Tuesday.


With international stars like Sourav Ganguly, Ricky Ponting and Shoaib Akhtar in their ranks, the excitement levels are rising by the day.


The colours of the team are black and gold. A slick advertising campaign has also been released to promote the team, which will be led by Ganguly and will have John Buchanan as its coach.

Aamir's dog Shah Rukh!

Aamir Khan is currently recuperating in Panchgani with his family and Shah Rukh. Well don't be surprised… it's not the King Khan but his dog.

In his blog Aamir writes, "A cool breeze is blowing, jannat ki hawa (breeze from the heavens), as my mother calls it. Ammi, Ira and Junaid are by my side and we are in the middle of one of our favorite board games 'Settlers of Catans'. Shah Rukh is licking my feet and I am feeding him biscuits every now and then. What more can I ask for?"

Just like the other prominent blogger Amitabh, who recently took a dig at SRK, Aamir too has decided to clarity his stand on why his dog is named so.

"Shah Rukh is the dog of the caretakers of our house. When I bought this house it came with the caretakers and their dog! Apparently Shah Rukh (the actor) was shooting for a commercial in this house a few years ago, and that very day the caretakers bought a pup…, and named him Shah Rukh. What are the chances of me buying a house which comes with a dog called Shah Rukh!!!

Some of my friends claim that I bought the house just because of the dog. I would have to be a serious fan of Shah Rukh's to want to do that. Your guess

I hope you will get to read my post. I woke up this morning and logged into Bollywood Hungama and I could not believe the content of the article posted on that website so I checked your blog for confirmation.

I have been a life long fan of yours and I have always respected you as an actor par excellence and as an intellectual. I have looked up to you for most of my life and your movies have entertained us for decades. I strongly supported you during the Narmada dam controversy and a number of other controversies.

I was truly shocked to read your comments and I am very disappointed. I am not a huge admirer of SRK's acting abilities but he is by far the most charismatic and most popular star representing the east. He has earned the respect of millions of people. The comments you have posted on your blog are extremely offensive to all fans of the Indian cinema and not just SRK and his fans.

I think that you should have considered the cultural sensitivities that surround those comments. There are certain rules that need be followed and certain lines that are not to be crossed when addressing your competitors and adversaries in public.

You might notice that this is my first post on your website and I rarely comment on such issues but those outrageous comments are extremely hard to ignore. According to media reports, SRK's wife and his children are big fans of your work and I would like to know how you would face them after making those comments that are usually attributed to unsavory individuals.

I am sure you are aware of the backlash Michael Richards faced following his racist rant and I am not comparing your comments to his racist remarks, but he made it very difficult for a lot of Seinfeld fans including myself to enjoy that show after that ugly episode. I am sure that you are aware that SRK and you possibly share millions of fans and I hope you will understand that those comments were extremely offensive to a lot of people. King Khan’s kingly take on Aamir’s mudslinging

Mumbai, May 15: After actor Aamir Khan indulged into the cheap and downmarket antics of insulting his fellow actor Shah Rukh Khan through his blog, SRK has chosen to the high ground and has acted in a much dignified manner.

Speaking to reporters, King Khan said, "I think actors should concentrate on acting and not get involved in to such things. Such things don’t bother me and I take these things lightly, as they are said by friends.”

Looks like Aamir Khan also known, as Mr Perfectionist is not so perfect after all. The actor’s recent blog, where he went ahead to state that he has a dog called Shahrukh has got the nation talking.

The blog has been widely condemned by not only SRK but also Aamir’s fans.

FYI : This is the second time that Aamir has taken a dig at Shah Rukh Khan. The first time he had called the actor No.2 to which SRK had previously also responded in a friendly manner.

However, this time round the actor’s famous piece of writing is being dubbed as immature and demeaning.

Aamir Khan’s remarks lowering SRK’s image may cost him 100 crore!

New Delhi, India, May 14, 2008 –IR Summary - Bollywood Superstar Aamir Khan has done well in Taare Zameen Par, but it doesn’t mean that he has attained No.1 position in Bollywood by his self assessment and got a license to insult anyone?

Shah Rukh Khan is Shah Rukh Khan, he has God’s blessings upon him because he is humble, well behaved, accommodating and scholarly, I don’t think any other star in the Bollywood other than Amitabh Bachchan can complete him in his intelligence and oratory. SRK normally doesn’t mind most of the remarks by others; simply he feels that such people possess pitiable manners.

Aamir Khan has indirectly and directly both ways insulted Shah Rukh Khan by saying “Shah Rukh is licking my feet and I am feeding him biscuits”, how ridiculous?
Such remarks don’t lift Aamir Khan higher in the eyes of his fans and the general public. No doubt, Aamir is a good guy and is also an excellent actor and producer, but if he lacks the quality of maintaining respect for others, he may have to pay a huge price in a legal battle if some one thrust upon him.

In that case Aamir may lose his estimation among the audience and the general public which he has recently earned by producing Taare Zameen Par. I am not certain but some serious fan of SRK may comfortably bring Aamir to court by instituting a defamation case both civil and criminal.

As per news from Bollywood Hangama released on 14 May 2008 it is enough to institute a case of defamation against Aamir as well as the writer and the website. Mr. Aamir is, therefore, advised, not to mix his dog with Shah Rukh Khan in an indirect form which may land him to legal trouble under section 500 and 501 of the Indian Penal Code, which can attract simple imprisonment of two years or with fine and in a civil suit the person of the stature of Shah Rukh Khan can even ask for damages of over one hundred crore.

Reacting to digs taken at him by fellow superstars Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan in their respective blogs, Shah Rukh Khan says that he doesn’t feel the two have not written anything against him.

“I haven’t felt bad about anything because they haven’t written anything against me. The first question Amitji asked in his blog is that whether he should work on a show format which would be quiz based. I think it is a very relevant topic. He has hosted the greatest quiz show in the history of Indian television so it is a good way to research.

I have not read Aamir’s blog but the point is that I too crack jokes on people so I have to take it as pinch of salt and in a right spirit. Lots of people have written about me and I do not have any copyright on my name unless it is used for commercial purpose. We are contemporary actors and we know each other very well. I, Aamir and Salman are friends and we cracks jokes on each other when we actually catch up with each other,” reveals King Khan.

He adds that he is very happy with the trend of actors like Amitabh and Aamir blogging. “It is great that two of the nicest brains in our film industry are doing it. We all have respect for them - one is perfectionist and other is a huge star so it is a pleasure to know their viewpoints. Blogging is a great invention,” says the superstar and adds, “It feels nice that youngsters have got a chance to understand their views on so many different topics. I am sure initially they will talk about select topics but it will be varied soon. Aamir’s blog is an older one so he has already shared his views on quite a few different topics.”

Though Shah Rukh himself is net savvy, he is not in favour of starting his own blog or launching a special site. He explains, “I believe in keeping few things personal. There are two main reasons why people blog – first is when they think people are misinterpreting their point of view and second is because they want to be become a journalist. Blogging is a way of joining the journalist fraternity. I am very happy with things because the media has always been good to me. I also love journalism but I want stick to acting.”

So Shah Rukh is surely not joining the community of bloggers but is more than happy to interact with fans and share his views by personally meeting them.

Aamir's very intention was to get the media make a big story out of it.

He wouldn't have written about his dog had it been named Tommy or Jimmy. Come on, he very well knew there will be a big controversy and a lot of people will feel hurt, disgusted and will react angrily.

What started as a joke is getting out of control now, esp. among SRK and Aamir fans! SRK has stated that he doesn't take it seriously (even if it might hurt him in a way), so why should fans be upset then? Just chill, people! Shah Rukh is magnanimous, Aamir isn’t

That Shah Rukh Khan is magnanimous is not new. But he has proved it again. And the bitter fact is that Aamir Khan isn’t magnanimous. The way Shah Rukh Khan has handled the recent controversy over Aamir’s comments has proved it beyond doubt as to why Shah Rukh Khan is the reigning star.

Aamir’s recent comment on his blog has shattered every myth around his personality and has shown clearly as to where he stands. Aamir apologises for SRK-dog blog

New Delhi: Actor Aamir Khan on Tuesday offered "sincere apology" for posting on his blog that he had named his pet dog after actor Shah Rukh Khan.


The actor decided to apologise to all SRK fans for his blog entry on www.amirkhan.com that created a huge controversy.


“Shah Rukh is a dear friend of mine and I have highest respect and regard for him. That blog was in good humour and a lot of people found it funny. However, some did not. Many felt I shouldn’t have said that. So my sincere apologies to people who were uncomfortable with that part,” Aamir wrote.


Aamir referred to Shah Rukh as not the Badshah but “the dog that belongs to the caretakers of my Panchgani home”.


Shah Rukh took the remark “sportingly”. “I have to take it sportingly because I have that kind of sense of humour. So if somebody is doing it with me, I have to accept it,” he said.

Sometimes i can understand but not excuse why rani's fans act like that! They feel insecure to see other actresses do better than their idol but for Srk i can't understand! He's on the top of the tops! He has achieved a lot of things! Thanks to his films a lot of non indians persons know and are interesting by Bollywood and Indian cinema (like me!). He's a reference. So because of this status, media will make comparison between him and other actors, will write thrash things about him! He's a public man so he's a easy prey!

I don't like some actors or actresses it's normal and natural so i don't go to their threads and forums to insult them!
I think we can make some little private jokes about actors but not be hurtful!

I think Aamir and Srk have great respect for each other. They have quite the same kind of humor but they don't belong to the same groups! They appreciate each other but i think they are not the best ever pals!

I hope they will make a movie together : a mix of TZP and swades but with a part of entertainment and srk with a beard! :tongue: An if there is Saani's choupinet it would be the ice on the cake! :grin:
