Who’s the copycat?
Ajay Devgan and Deepak Shivdasani seem to be making the same film. Who hit upon the idea first?

Even before Ajay Devgan’s directorial venture goes on floor, there are reports that another director, Deepak Shivdasani, too is making a film on the same subject. Shivdasani, who has directed Ajay in Yeh Raaste Hai Pyaar Ke, is making an adaptation of Hollywood film The Notebook. The film will be an adaptation of Nicholas Sparks’ novel The Notebook that was a hit in 2004, and is the story of two lovers who part ways after one of the parents disapprove of the relationship.

Deepak Shivdasani, the director who is making the film when quizzed if the subjects of the two films are the same said, “Even I have heard that Ajay Devgan is also making an adaptation of The Notebook, but I have already recorded the songs of the film. My film is going on floor by the end of this month. I have cast a new boy and a new girl in the film.”

Ajay Devgan's directorial venture will have Kajol and Ajay playing the main lead in the film along with Saif Ali Khan. Ajay, who is busy completing his acting assignments will start shooting the film in June 2007. Shivdasani is likely to finish shooting his film by June.

I think too that Ajay will play the role of the lover from the poor side of the tracks and Saif would be good for the role of the rich handsome sauve fiance.
But, I do hope we don't have a similar story from this Deepak Shivdasani ; wonder what's up with Ajay and his movies, there's always someone else waiting in the wings making the same movies that he plans to do-- we saw that with legend of bhagat singh, then with the now shelved prithvuraj chauhan and now once again with his Home production -- can't Ajay think of something original and lock it up like the YashRaj productions ??? he needs to learn a lot from Adi Chopra how to keep things under wraps till the shooting is completed !!!

It seems AJ likes to share his thoughts and ideas with others specially the ones who are involved in his projects , some of them unfortunately some of them can't keep their mouth shut , like Aseem Bajaj who leaked the whole news of the movie to the media (if that piece of stopry is true) :hmmm:

OMG!!! The Notebook..That has always been a dream of mine to see Kajol and SRK to do the remake...It is SO romantic, My fave Hollywood film!

I guess if Kajol is in it I'm happy because nobody could play the character of Allie Hamilton but her. SRK would of made a great Noah Callihoun..:down:

The story he reads follows two young lovers named Allie Hamilton and Noah Calhoun, who meet one evening at a carnival. But they are separated by Allie's parents who dissaprove of Noah's unwealthy family, and move Allie away. After waiting for Noah to write her for several years, Allie meets and gets engaged to a handsome young soldier named Lon. Allie, then, with her love for Noah still alive, stops by Noah's 200-year-old home that he restored for her, "to see if he's okay". It is evident that they still have feelings for each other, and Allie has to choose between her fiancé and her first love

It has to be Kajol & Saif. I doubt Saif accepts a second fiddle, and I sincerely hope Ajay concentrates on directing Kajol & Saif, both are extremely good actor and perfect for the roles esp when they grow old. It would perfect for Kajol to play an Azheimer now, from blind last year.

And if it is a home production, for the sake of their commercial success, it has to be Kajol Saif pair - honestly that will sell better than Kajol Ajay.

Since we are on this subject, I have to put on record, Notebook the movie didn't work for me... the story is about Annie, but both actresses acting Annie junior & senior were just terrible actors!

Kajol's Annie junior version will be lovable that we would forgive her young affair, and her Annir senior rendition will be heartrenching indeed. Very confident.

I suppose it will be a repeat of French Kiss vs Pyar To Hota Hita, Kajol's verison was so much better than Meg Ryan's (and I love Meg!).

hmmm i checked the story in internet as well....look very unteresting..an emotinal. ANd kajol is good in emotional movies...... so looking forward to see it. And can`t wait to see saif with kajol.
