<font color='#348781'>Kareena Kapoor, who was away from Mumbai for almost two months, has returned saying she is ready to shock audiences with her role in Fidaa. "I can't believe I've been away for so long! Everything seems different," Kareena told IANS. She was in Dubai, then Sun City and Cape Town in South Africa shooting for Ken Ghosh's musical film Fidaa.
"We've almost completed the film in just two months. Just a small portion needs to be shot in Mumbai, and that's it. It was great fun and a challenge shooting with Shahid Kapur.
"I was afraid whether I'd be able to cope with his dancing. After all, he's a trained dancer whereas I'm just a learner on the job. But to my surprise, I coped with his formidable dancing quite well."
How does it feel to be looked upon as the hottest pair in Bollywood? "I don't know, are people still talking about us? I know we'll make a good pair on screen. We share a terrific rapport. Fidaa will prove a lot of points. I can't say much about my role because it would give away the plot. But I'll say this: I play a shocker of a part and audiences are going to be stunned by my character."
Back home, Kareena is getting ready to stun in her two "extremely important" releases. "I'm holding my breath for the release of Govind Nihalani's Dev and Mani Rathnam's Yuva. Both feature rocking star casts, and yet I think I've really groovy roles in them. The promos of Yuva have started and I'm delighted to return to Mumbai to a lot of compliments. People have a lot to say about me. Fortunately, for a change, none of it is negative."
Kareena feels the release of Yuva and Dev, followed by Fidaa in July, will make a statement about her acting credentials. "While in Yuva I'm young, carefree and impulsive, in Dev, I play a very thoughtful girl caught in a crisis. Then in Fidaa I get to be my own age. Lots of singing, dancing and mischief."
Filmmakers are lining up with offers that Kareena cannot refuse. Chameli director Sudhir Mishra is keen to remake his 1970s' award-winning drama Main Zinda Hoon with Kareena in the role that Deepti Naval had played.
"I'd love to work with Sudhir again. I really enjoyed Chameli. Sudhir was able to tap those emotions in me that I never knew existed. But for now, after non-stop shooting I need a break. "I'm going to complete my work in Dharmesh Darshan's Bewafaa. I've signed only one new film, and that's Priyadarshan's Hulchal, which I start shooting next month. I've never done a comedy before.
"After that I'll take a two-month break before resuming my work." Akshay Kumar says she has given a great performance in Bewafaa. "Oh, does he?" asks Kareena. "I don't know about that. But I've never done a role like Kajol in Bewafaa. It's a complete Hindi cinema heroine's role, with the entire gamut of emotions."
